I was always told that if there are a lot of different ways to do a procedure, none of them work very well. I am starting to feel this way about facelifts. *sigh*

I have tried deep plane, composite, SMAS lift, SMAS plication, short scar etc... and none of them seem to do the job to my satisfaction with a durable result. Does anyone have a facelift technique that they are happy with? (For the typical 40-60 yr old patient, obviously one size does not fit all.)

The only thing that deep plane and SMAS guarantees is an increased risk of nerve injury. The Lifestyles lift is nothing more than a "Minilift" and neither are as effective as the original face lift.

We have seen a number of disappointed patients who ended up paying the same as the original lift..

Longevity depends on good genes,in other words choose your parents. No matter how durable their collagen is, I have noticed poor results in smokers and tanning bed fanatics.

I agree with you. I have done every type of lift and still am looking for that long lasting and least invasive lift. The only thing that doing a deep plane resection give you is more complications such as possible nerve injury. I have seen many patients with different lifts whether the Life Style. the Quick Lift , Endotine,, Ribbon lift or traditional lift the issues are the same. I try to use the least invasive lift that will give that specific patient the best results and not sitick with one specific procedure . Essentially no one lift procedure suits every patient.

The facelift procedure is performed to remove visible signs of the ageing process. As long as you have a healthy sense of realism about the procedure and are in good health then this is a good choice of surgery.

A variety of procedures can enhance a facelift, such as:

Facial implants
Resurfacing techniques
Soft tissue augmentation
Wrinkle reduction
